Location: Harrisburg, PA - local candidates Position Type: Hybrid, must be onsite for 1 week per month Contract Length: 2.5 years
Work Status: W2 only, US Citizen or Permanent Residents Position Overview: The Senior Project Management Specialist will support our client in delivering a large technology project. In this role, you and a small team will provide independent Validation & Verification (IV&V) services on a two year long technology project that will develop a modernized back-office system. You will work closely with management and the project’s development team to identify and resolve issues that arise during the verification process.
This new back-office system aims to unify all toll transactions, customer touchpoints, and enterprise software (SAP, Microsoft, etc.) into a single system that is customer focused and offers seamless integration with other systems. Areas of focus for this IV&V team will include project management, agile software development, IT systems architecture, data migration, high volume transactions, and tolling back-office operations.
Required Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale IT projects.
- Proven experience in Agile Software Development, IT systems integration, and tolling back-office operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
Duties: - Provide independent oversight on the project’s schedule and financial performance, alignment of project goals, and adherence to the development team’s scope of work.
- Provide actionable recommendations that can be used by the project team to resolve issues and avoid risks.
- Facilitate regular meetings and reviews with various members of the client, development team, and corporate management.
- Manage relationships with the project’s development staff, sub-consultants, and the client’s management team.
- Produce regular status reports on work plan status, target dates, budget, resource capacity and other ad hoc reports as needed.
- Collaborate closely with management and work groups to develop and maintain work plan documents, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Must be able to travel to Harrisburg, PA for one week each month as part of job responsibilities.
- Adhere to contract requirements and comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
