Who we are

Sindan, part of Teva Group, is a pharmaceutical company dedicated to oncology treatments, founded in 1991, within the structure of the Research Department of the Bucharest Oncology Institute. In 2000, Sindan was certified according to Good Manufacturing Practice quality standards and currently delivers products to over 75 countries worldwide.
In March 2006, the Icelandic group Actavis bought Sindan and in 2016, Teva acquired the generics division (Actavis Generics) of the global manufacturer Allergan (same year, Sindan became part of Teva group). 
Following this global acquisition, Teva's portfolio in Romania expanded by taking over the oncology drug factory intended for both domestic consumption and export – Sindan Pharma.

Currently, Teva covers the treatment needs of hundreds of thousands of patients in Romania with an extensive portfolio of generics, innovatives, OTC and cosmetic medicines, intended for the following therapeutic areas: Neurology, Psychiatry, Hematology, Respiratory, Oncology, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Pain, Endocrinology. 
Teva Romania objective is to remain a company with an extensive and diversified portfolio, which responds to currently unmet therapeutic needs through new products to be launched in the innovative portfolio and not only.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic EHS Lead (Associate Director) to oversee and continuously improve our Environment, Health, and Safety programs at the factory level. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with Romanian legislation and corporate policies, while fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. You will also coordinate Business Continuity Management (BCM) and administrative functions, playing a vital role in protecting our people, assets, and the environment.

How you’ll spend your day

- Leading the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and systems (including ISO 14001).
- Managing the EHS and Administrative departments, ensuring alignment with corporate and legal standards.
- Conducting internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Coordinating fire prevention, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection activities.
- Overseeing the BCM policy and ensuring disaster preparedness and recovery plans are in place.
- Preparing and submitting reports to authorities and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Delivering training programs for employees and management on EHS and emergency procedures.
- Monitoring KPIs, budgets, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Acting as the primary liaison with government and community authorities on EHS matters.

Your Experience

You bring over 5 years of hands-on experience in EHS, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 
You’ve successfully managed complex safety systems in a regulated environment and have a strong track record in implementing ISO standards, managing audits, and leading cross-functional teams. 
Your ability to balance strategic oversight with operational execution makes you a trusted advisor and effective leader.

Qualifications

- University degree in a relevant field.
- Specialized certifications in occupational safety and environmental protection.
- In-depth knowledge of Romanian OHS and environmental legislation.
- Proven experience with ISO 14001 implementation and EHS audits.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Fluent in Romanian and English (written and spoken).
- Familiarity with GMP compliance and manufacturing best practices is a plus
